Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50

I believe it's so important regardless of age to use products that will protect your skin. It's never too early to start. I have used so many different skin products over the years everything from drugstore to high end and have found tried, tested and true products that I feel nourish my skin and help preserve it.

One important rule of thumb is to always use a lotion with an SPF and if you don't you should be applying some type of sunscreen to your face. Rain or shine SPF is an absolute must. It can mean the difference of looking 10 years older in no time.

I have said it before and I will say it again- I have very dry and very sensitive skin, which makes not only finding stand up products a challenge, but trying new ones can send my nerves through the roof. One wrong move and my skin is an absolute mess. Yet in order to find the gems you have to try and try again.

I recently started using the *Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50.  It is a medium-weight daily cream that contains a unique formula that accelerates the product's initial SPF 30 to a 50 and uses 50% less chemical agents. A technology called Oleosome- spheres of emollient oils and Vitamin E extracted from Safflower seeds.

This unique SPF technology allows the ingredients to deliver over time so maximum skin benefits are met. Not only does the daily moisturizer contain particular SPF benefits, but it also helps to reduce hyperpigmentation, and helps stimulate collagen- using the antioxidant properties of White Tea.

I have been using it for about 3 weeks now and I can honestly say that this lotion is a gem. It has the most amazing scent, but doesn't irritate my skin in the least. It also isn't heavy and absorbs quickly into the skin, but leaves my skin feeling hydrated all day. Which is rare for a formula that I would consider more light-weight compared to what I am used to using.

I think this a a great daily lotion and I feel really great knowing that my daily moisturizer is combined with such a powerful SPF. I don't have to worry about that extra step.

I highly recommend trying this product if you are looking for a daily lotion with SPF. If you are looking to try this product- check it out by clicking HERE!!

First Impression: Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner

I never thought that I could jump on board to be an electric blue eyeliner kinda gal, but after seeing it on even the most unlikely of people I decided to give this quirky trend a second glance. It seemed harmless and I will now always remember the summer of 2014 ending with a pop of color I thought only Cyndi Lauper circa 1982 could pull off.

I wasn't sure where to start as far as product was concerned and after I had a deep heart to heart with myself, looking into my vanity mirror and saying "you got this". I began my search for a blue eyeliner so perfect that it would make me regret even questioning Cyndi Lauper's judgement- even if it was the 80's. Knowing that it is just a trend I began cringing at spending a ton of money on something that will leave as quick as it came.

So where better a place to start then the drugstore. Low and behold one day while walking the makeup aisles at none other then my neighborhood Walmart I saw it and knew that it would be a great jump off point. Little did I know that I would have to look no further. I'm talking about the Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner in Electric Blue. I will admit at first I didn't think it would have any pigment or staying power. I had my doubts to say the least.

I really like the packaging, it's slender and small making it easy to travel with or toss into your bag for touch ups. I also really like the fact that the lid color represents the liner color. It really makes this packaging stand out.

I also really like the extra fine point. It makes getting close to the lash line and into the inner corner of the eye a breeze. No sloppy slip-ups!

As you can see from the picture above the pigmentation is AH-mazing!! It's the perfect pop of blue that is required to take part in this trend. The formula itself is on the runnier side, but if you apply it in sections across the lid it applies beautifully. It dries quickly and didn't irritate my eyes whatsoever.

After wearing the liner for the better part of the day I can honestly say I was quite impressed. It did not fold under the Texas heat and it didn't dry up on the eyelid either. And as you can see it packs a punch in the color department. Wearing this blue liner creates a unique trendy look with minimal makeup required. I really am digging this look right now and I will definitely be picking up the emerald green liquid liner as well. I think the green is a great way to introduce a pop of color into the Fall season.

All in all I highly recommend this product. Kudos to you Revlon for giving us all the chance to rock the trendy blue eyes without having to break the piggy banks open.

Have you tried any of these liners? Are you into the blue eyeliner trend?

Get The Look: Jessica Alba Isabel Marant Leal Denim Dress Inspired

Photo: Pinterest
It is no surprise that I am a huge fan of Jessica Alba and her chameleon like style. She can do no wrong in my books and she is among the top of closets I would love to raid.

I stumbled on to this photo of her in a Isabel Marant Leal Denim Dress and fell even more in love. This dress is so cute and perfect for frolicking in this summer. Keeping the accessories simple gives the denim dress the cool casual summer vibe.

Here is a look I put together based on Ms. Alba's look.

Jessica Alba- Get The Look

I opted to pair this denim dress look with a simple gladiator sandal and a pair of dark framed cat eye glasses to compliment wearing denim. Wearing lighter colored accessories like the Charlotte Russe beaded bracelets and a pair of pink pearlescent studs helps bring out the femininity of the look.

I also selected a lip color that is super trendy right now thanks to Kylie Jenner and her endless Instagram selfies. A dusty rose color like Kat Von D's Painted love will work perfectly.

Here are some other affordable options for the denim dress this summer....

Anastasia Brow Wiz Review

Every now and then a beauty product comes along that really takes me by surprise. When the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil hit the beauty scene I didn't jump on the brow bandwagon with my arms flailing in the the air about how brilliant it is. I sat back and watch/read the reviews and thought- what could possibly be the big deal?

After all I had my trusty MAC Omega eyeshadow and dual ended brow brush and I was happy. That was until I finally broke down and bought the darn thing. It has changed my world just like every beauty guru out there said it would. I stand corrected. It was time to pack away the MAC Omega shadow and dual ended brow brush for a product that is not only cleverly packaged, but the product speaks volumes.

So I thought after weeks of brow bliss I would share what I think. First, I will talk packaging, because if you are a subscriber of mine you know how I love me some packaging.
The product is in fact a dual ended product. With the mechanical pencil on one end and the brow brush on the other. I love this, because not only is it convenient, but it keeps everything really sanitary. The other bonus is that it is a mechanical pencil with an ultra fine tip. Say goodbye to pencil sharpeners and hello to easy brows everyday.

The pencil itself is what I find unique. It's soft and goes on as a pencil product should, but offers a more naturally defined brow as a powder would- yet gives the flexibility needed to create more precise shaping. The formula of this product is unlike any other brow pencil I've tried, which I in my opinion made for the wave of brow beauty praises everywhere.
I am in the shade Caramel and this gem can be found in 9 shades in total- which makes it easy to select the right shade for you. Coming in at around $21.00USD you might think it a bit hefty for a brow pencil, but trust me when I say it is worth every cent and has made my life so much easier when filling/shaping my brows. It has almost become effortless.

I highly recommend trying this product if you were on the fence like I was. You will not be disappointed.

Beautisol Self Tanning Mousse Review

With the warm weather now upon us we start chasing that golden sun kissed tan. Now I can honestly say that as I get older sitting out in the sun really freaks me out. So one must look to other options. One of those options are self tanners. Now just a quick note that I have not tried alot of self tanners- simply because I am really fair skin with pink undertones and I really don't like the oompa-loompa look. Orange doesn't flatter anyone.

However, being a beauty product junkie like so many of us out there I am always willing to try new things. So when I was graciously sent this product called *Beautisol Self Tanning Mousse I pulled out the glove and went to work.

So what do I think of this product? I actually was really surprised at how much I did love it. Reading the bottle it claims to have color-correcting pigments- which I was hesitant on believing at first. After using this product over the last few weeks I will say that I do think it has color correcting properties. There is no orange tint- not even of the elbows or knees! Imagine that right?!

It also claimed to be streak free, which I can tell you is 100% true. The first time I applied this tanner I really took my time and made sure I was super careful, but then with the second application put it to the test and applied it rather carefree and I ended up with the same result.

I have to say another bonus to this tanner is the fact that it actually has a pleasant scent. It reminds me alot of the beach!! Bonus! It looks pretty intimidating when it comes out of the bottle, but don't book afraid- it's really forgiving!!

I also really liked the fact that it is paraben free since you are rubbing it all over your skin and letting it soak in. Something that I try to avoid are parabens if it is a product that is sitting on my skin!

All in all I think this is a great product to help achieve that summer tan! You guys can try this product out at discounted price, because I have a coupon code you can use when checking out!!

Beautisol Exscrub Me Citrus Face Exfoliant

I wanted to share my thoughts on a new product that I have been trying over the past couple of weeks. I am speaking of the *Beautisol Exscrub Me? Citrus Face Exfoliant. This product couldn't have come into my life at a more opportune time, because with the warm weather already upon us it is time for us gals to break out the exfoliants to ensure soft tan skin just in time for summer. Especially those of us who's skin is comparable to the Sahara Desert.

First things first, the packaging is pretty basic. Clean simple and very spa like. I love anything in a squeeze tube, because it means you aren't digging your fingers into the product which decreases the transferring of bacteria between skin and product.

Aside from the packaging it's really what's inside that counts. I will say that I have never tried anything from this company before. I had actually never heard of them, which I get really excited about when this happens, because it's a new frontier to explore.
Immediately I love the fact that this face scrub is free from parabens and sodium laurel/laureth sulphate and is vegan as well as cruelty free. It leaves a good feeling when you are rubbing it into your skin. Secondly I have to say that I really love the scent of this product. It's very fresh, clean, and spa like which I appreciate in my skincare products. It is infused with certified organic orange peel, lemon and grapefruit extracts, which are all amazing astringents.

The texture was something that was a little shocking at first, but once I began working with the product more came to love. It is a creamy base with larger red beads and micro-fine beads suspended in it. This scrub means business. I usually have to be really carefully with my face scrubs, because I have really dry sensitive skin. If they are too harsh they can really rip up my skin and leave it majorly dehydrated. So I will admit after the first use I was really nervous how my skin would react, but surprise to me my skin felt really soft and didn't react in any way! Yay!
A little really goes a long way and it is really important to wet the face with water before applying this product. I apply it in small circular motions, being very careful not to rub into the skin too hard with it. You want to use gentle pressure when applying this product. Let the beads do the work for you.

All in all I have to say that I really enjoy this product and would repurchase it again. The whole concept of this product is on point and is safe for all skin types.

I am excited to share that I can offer you guys a coupon code if you are interested in trying this scrub for yourself. It is a BUY ONE GET ONE FREE so you can really stock up for the summer months! Simply click the link below and use coupon code BOGO2014. Offer is valid until June 31, 2014.

http://youtu.be/dPyOPNPlS1w
Warm weather brings bright colors and this year's color is Orchid. It is the hot color of 2014 and is popping up everywhere. In the spirit of celebrating the warm weather and this year's hottest color I put together an everyday look that has just the right amount of color.

Here's what I used:

FACE
Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation in Rose Ivory
HourGlass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla
Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Light/Medium Bronzer
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink

EYES
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC Omega Eyeshadow
NYX Retractable Eye Liner in White

This palette is gorgeous for the warmer months and the orchid color is perfect for 2014. The colors are super pigmented, silky smooth and don't crease.
 Maybelline Expert Wear Quad in Chai Latte {below}

I can't tell you how excited I am to have found this little gem. This quad is gorgeous. The light matte brown color is a dream come true. It is the perfect crease color. I want to say that it beats out Naked in the Urban Decay Naked Palette. Dare I say it! These shadows are like butter and blend beautifully.

 L'oreal Lineur Intense Carbon Black
Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Eye Liner in Perversion
Urban Decay Smoked Palette in Blackout {below}
This is the perfect matte black shadow to soften any liquid liner. Urban Decay eye shadows are among my favorite.
Benefit They're Real Mascara

LIPS
NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Nude
MAC Supreme Sheen Lipstick in Supreme Style

Shop The Look: Summer Shorts

With the arrival of Spring- and Summer just around the corner it's time to start revamping our closets. Adding new pieces that welcoming the warm months with a trendy handshake. I found 3 looks that I absolutely fell in love with courtesy of Pinterest and then went to work finding pieces that would reflect my style. What I love most about these looks is that they definitely work for day or night, the versatility is endless.

LOOK #1
Photo: Pinterest
I fell in love with this look because it looks put together with minimal effort. I love the idea of layering a masculine blazer with the simple white tee. It looks crisp clean and super trendy. Paired with distressed denim shorts, a pair of gladiators, and a big black bag- how could you go wrong. Take this look out for lunch, shopping, or for a date night on the patio.

Here's What I Would Do:
I made a small change to the blazer color, because I feel that black is a much more classic and versatile blazer. It's something that will never go out of style and you will wear it again and again and again. I also think a black blazer dresses up or down much easier.

LOOK # 2
Photo: Pinterest
This look is another day or night wear. I am really loving the faux leather shorts that are popping up everywhere. They are super cute and a great versatile piece to have in your closet this summer. I love the color scheme of this look as well. The green, black, and gold is a great palette to work with.

Here's What I Would Do:

If you are thinking about picking up a pair of faux leather shorts this year, I would definitely spend a bit more on this purchase. You want these to have more quality as they will fit alot nicer. I love that this look can be completed on a budget though. Finding a great green top for under $30 allows the wiggle room for splurging on the shorts.

LOOK #3
Photo: Pinterest
The final look is probably the one that I favor. This is definitely something you would find me wearing day or night. I love the hippie chic look. I think it's feminine and trendy all wrapped into one. I have been loving kimonos lately in place of a blazer. In my opinion they are highly overlooked. Pairing a light colored kimono with a plain white tank, distressed denim shorts and some leopard print is a recipe for summer coolness.

Here's What I Would Do:

I am really excited to add some of these pieces to my closet. What are you going to be adding to your closet? Which look is your favorite?
